GRIDLIFE Midwest
After attending GRIDLIFE’s Alpine Horizon Festival at Pikes Peak International
Raceway earlier this summer, it was time to finish the season off at their iconic Midwest
Festival at Gingerman Raceway.
Many vehicles come with a separate spring and shock configuration (Divorced Rear) from the manufacturer. The ride height on Divorced Rear setups is adjusted with the spring perch and the shock then must be adjusted to match to avoid creating too much tension on either shock or spring. Installing and setting up a Divorced Rear suspension is a little more involved than a traditional True Rear Coilover. Take a look at the video here as we outline all the dos and don’ts of installing a Divorced Rear Coilover Kit.
For some vehicles that are designed with a Divorced Rear suspension, we offer True Rear Coilover substitutes but, not for all vehicles. If you want to know if your Divorced Rear setup vehicle has a True Rear option, please click over to our Application List or our Online Shop to check. You can also give us a call or email us to speak with one of our Chassis Specialists.

Our revolutionary Concave Flow Digressive Piston Technology allows for a zero compromise track-oriented damper that has been developed for the track but still great for the street. The ultra-wide range of adjustment offered by our CFD Piston™ allows for the convenience of tuning your suspension without having to revalve your dampers. A conventional shock absorber can withstand a 2kg spring rate difference before requiring a revalve, whereas the Concave Flow Digressive Technology has a broad range of 8kg spring rates. This is invaluable for tuning your suspension quickly at the track on race day. The Concave Flow Digressive Piston™ allows for a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Lower spring rates can be stiffened up by using the wide damping range as an artificial spring rate, while higher spring rates feel much smoother. The large adjustment range contributes to a comfortable ride on the street and unyielding performance on the track, all with the twist of a single adjustment knob. We utilize the CFD Piston™ in our 510 Series, Dreadnought Pro 2 Way, and 3 Way Coilover systems.
One of the most beneficial results of designing and hand-building our Coilovers is the modularity. Modular means the components that make up a Fortune Auto Coilover system can be independently created, modified, replaced, or exchanged between different kits. Simplify that? Ok. That means, your existing 500 Series Coilovers can be upgraded into 510 Series, Dreadnought Pro 2 or 3 Ways, or even have our Air Piston Lift System added. That’s right; there’s no need to purchase a whole new set of Coilovers every time you want to change things up! So often, vehicles are built and modified in stages and we recognize that. If it’s a rebuild for heavier spring rates, a more capable setup for the track, or just some normally scheduled maintenance work; all of these services are performed by the same team that built your Coilovers to begin with in-house here in Richmond, VA.

At Fortune Auto, we develop race-winning, performance suspension systems for Japanese, European, and American vehicles. The advanced suspension technology found in our dampers is derived from successes in Global Time Attack, Gridlife, Formula Drift, One Lap of America, NASA and IMSA Racing Series, and many more across the world. Research and development on the racetrack allows us to deliver the best suspension system on the market which optimizes comfort, reliability, and performance.
Fortune Auto is built on the constant pursuit of perfection and success. When the company was founded back in 2008, it was a result of the age old theory “if you want something done right, do it yourself”.
Fortune Auto is a team of enthusiasts and drivers passionate about suspension and performance; we’re here for you. The best way to control the quality of our product is to keep everything under one roof. So, from prototyping, research, and development all the way to the final nuts, bolts, and decals; Fortune Auto Coilovers are built for you.
